Fight Commentary (Ari vs Dion Moore) [D2 LA]

[Jason Brooks]

A small table was set up near the arena for the two commentators to discuss the fight and offer their commentary for the fans watching on television.

"Welcome back, everyone. Once again, I'm Jason Brooks, here with Citaly Velasco, and you're watching The Oceanside Rumble here on ANN. Our fifth match of the day involves Ari versus Dion Moore. That's our second competitor who has chosen to enter the tournament using only their first name, and I can't say that I'm thrilled at this trend. Is this something the youth are into these days? What's your take, Citaly?"

[Citaly Velasco]

"Hmm... Maybe it is. I mean, I only use one first name and one last name for ease, so it's not too surprising others might shorten it even more."

"I do know that Deluzo might be in trouble in a fight against a Mycetar. With how affected the poor things are by that fungus, it'll be much harder for its psychic illusions to work."

[Jason Brooks]

"You're absolutely right, Citaly. There just might not be much of a brain left in that Mycetar to muddle. And of course, there's the obvious size difference between them."

[Mara Froste]

Mara hadn't met either of these handlers but their monsters were interesting. Maybe she'd get a chance to bump into them at some point during the tournament.

[Citaly Velasco]

"It is a very striking contrast. But you know what they say: size isn't everything."

[Jason Brooks]

"Words of wisdom from Citaly Velasco, everyone! She says the things that I'm not allowed to say due to my contract with ANN!" He grins and taps his pencil against the table. "Now, have you ever worked with a Deluzo before, Citaly? I've heard that a number of the monsters used by Ophidian Studios are actually Deluzo, who use their illusions to save money on special effects. Did your producers every resort to such tricks?"

[Mara Froste]

Mara, who had been silently watching the fight, suddenly focused on the commentators. Ophidian does request a lot of deluzo.. Oh... oh no... A sudden wave of nausea hit Mara as a thought struck her. She usually does come here to scout new prospective mates for Ophidian. They are the biggest client after all. Damn it all. The breeder slouched in her seat and held on to Blitz, shivering a little, while cursing internally.

[Citaly Velasco]

"While I'm not familiar with Ophidian's practices from the inside, I know Luna Films, uses them from time to time, when a monster is needed for a plotline that our on-staff Wranglers don't have available and trained, so I've worked with a few before," she said. "They're fairly smart creatures, especially the adults, and I know a few shoots have had some issues crop up if the Deluzo gets bored, or is working with a Wrangler it doesn't like. They can be a challenge, but they're very rewarding to train and become friends with."

[Jason Brooks]

"Well said, Citaly. I'm not sure if you're familiar with FanOver magazine, but they ran an article a few years ago claiming that you, yourself, were a Deluzo. Thats obviously been debunked in the years since, but it's really amazing that these little guys are so skilled that such a rumor would even be considered."

[Calico Carter]

Depending on where it in the Late Afternoon timeslot, Calico was watching either with a great deal of nervousness, or with quiet elation.

Either way, knowing neither trainer, she wasn't particularly invested in the outcome, and just hoped nobody's friend would get maimed.

Citaly chuckled pleasantly. "I didn't know about the article, but that explains some strange questions I got around that time. That is really amazing."
