Milo's Diva was usually well behaved and the Jinglot was subdued. The two newly arrived firebirds were being calm, but...

"It's probably a good idea if you look after one or both of them Mara. You know more about them than me. I've not read up on anything about them and, well, Diva may need some coaxing. What do you think?"

'I'll take them in. Too bad we couldn't find you a staguar.' Mara was busily kicking dirt over all the grass that had caught fire. Blitz did her best to dig some holes and do the same. The feline was pretty nervous about the burning grass.

[Milo Whitewood]

"I'm not in any rush. Maybe I'll try a Nappen instead since there are a lot of them. Hmm. Are Firebirds popular?" Milo looked over to where they all were. One of them was being especially easy going and friendly with the others.

"That one's so well behaved."

[Mara Froste]

'With some people they are. I've admittedly not seen so many in one place before. Tinder came from the swamp. Maybe the other two came from the same nest? That one seems very well-behaved. She might be a good monster for you. I can take the other if you want. If you'd prefer a nappen I'll take both but she really is behaving for you.'

'What do you think Diva?'

The boy watches as the Warwolf took notice of its name. It was glancing between Mara and the Firebirds. It seemed... uncertain?

[Mara Froste]

'Come on Diva, look how sweet she is.' She pointed at the behaved one. 'I can take the other one with me.'

[Milo Whitewood]

The Warwolf remained on the fence, but Mara's focus on it was causing its tail to wag slightly. Perhaps it needed a little more coaxing?

'You're a good girl, Diva. She might sing to you and tell you how good you are.' Mara added a seductive tone to her voice, 'she'll probably tell you you're the best and how she looks up to you.'

[Ashley Elle]

Ashley was out in the distance and approached the pair. Still a little distance away, she waves to the two. "Hey."

[Mara Froste]

'Hello! How've you been Ashley? We seem to have a few new firebirds!'

[Ashley Elle]

"I've been good. Just thought I would try to see if I could find a vermin out her." She looks to the birds. "I see I'm not the only one who had that idea."

[Mara Froste]

Diva had barked once in confirmation of being a 'good girl'. Meanwhile, Milo had found Mara's tone a little odd, but it seemed to work so he trusted her experience. The Firebird seemed to as well as it studied Diva.

Then Ashley had appeared.

"Hey Ashley." He returned the wave. "Yeah, we were looking for a Staguar, but we must be close to a nest of Firebirds."

[Mara Froste]

Both of Mara's two firebirds started chirping and singing in tandem. 'Do you think any vermin will be comfortable around this many birds?'

A smug vindictive thought crossed Mara's mind as she envisioned the firebirds burning and popping open the Chasma that murdered Talia like that beetle she saw Fiadh cooking.
