Felix gave another cheer for Fidah, clapping loudly for the runner up. He'd never managed to get that hunting trip set up.

Milo joins Ari in clapping. "Maguana are pretty intimidating, aren't they?"

"Very." she nodded. "The bond they have is impressive."

[Milo Whitewood]

"It's impressive it doesn't eat or burn her." Milo rephrases the praise. "But they are good fighters. Orlok's abilities were just made for this tournament. Calico was really smart to bring a Saturnadus."

"Oh, wow, okay, so... first off? I really thought we were gonna be out of it more than once- Carl and Killbot Rex seemed to have us on the ropes in round one, and then... did you see the fight with Desmond and Lucy? Hoo. I honestly feel like that was the toughest fight of the tournament for us, because Lucy did not play to Orlok's strengths, and she used the space well. Had to use both healing sprays Vasoworth Solutions offered up for their sponsorship. Take it from me, if they stay in the game, you'll be hearing from both Carl and Desmond again. But all told, the field of competitors was excellent, and I'd encourage anyone on the fence to give the next one a try- you meet some amazing people, as it turns out. Oh, and go Team Vermin! You know who you are..."

"And what do you make of your winning strategy?"

"Well, I'm happy we won, obviously, but I'm pretty sure some rules changes might be inbound, because our win was a bit... well. Come on. You can't pretend the championship round, versus Riki- one incredibly tough contender- was worthy of Riki's track record up to that point. If Orlok had been forced to actually beat Riki down to land a win, things would have been a lot tougher- and probably a better fight for the audience. It would also force us to take a more varied approach, which is better for the tournament scene in general. We were that kinda awful combination of predictable and unstoppable in the final two rounds."

"Speaking of, any plans for another tournament soon?"

"Well, it's been a good experience. Maybe not a life for everyone, but it... feels pretty good right now! I'd be open to it. Just can't count on winning every time..."

"Any plans for your winnings?"

"Well, gotta see what comes out of this egg before I comment on that part. Might tune up my wardrobe a bit... but first thing's first, gotta be on financially stable footing. I've got the beginnings of a business plan with a couple of partners in mind. Can't get more specific than that, obviously..."

At the mentioned of "winnings," Calico catches sight of a very large man in a suit at the edge of the crowd. His eyes were hidden by his sunglasses, but he didn't seem to be particularly festive.
